Tabu

Tabu is a privacy-first image and video moderation API built specifically for developers, startups, and indie hackers. It detects explicit and NSFW content (pornography, hentai, sexy) with a single API call, allowing you to easily protect your user-generated platforms and comply with App Store guidelines.

Unlike bloated enterprise tools (like AWS Rekognition), Tabu operates on a Zero Data Retention policy by default—processing media entirely in-memory and instantly destroying it without sending anything to external CDNs. It runs ultra-fast inference using TensorFlow.js for sub-200ms responses.

It also includes a built-in React dashboard for Human-in-the-Loop moderation, allowing admins to manually review flagged edge-cases, along with webhook integrations for automated workflows.
